HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN
from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania:
1. STOP AND GET YOUR BEARINGS:
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
This is where the Bible says we are now. We are missing the holy standard of God for Heaven because of sin.
2. FIND OUT WHERE YOU ARE PRESENTLY HEADED:
"The wages of sin is death . . ." Romans 6:23
This is spiritual death or eternal separation from God. You are headed for hell as a sinner. You are now on the wrong road!
3. GET RID OF EXCESS BAGGAGE:
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. . ." Acts 3:19
Your sins are separating you from God. In order to come to His presence, you must get rid of them.
4. CHANGE YOUR DIRECTION:
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we MUST be saved." Acts 4:12 (Speaking of Jesus Christ)
You have been going in the wrong direction; trying to save yourself through good works, baptism, church membership, prayers, etc. or simply not thinking about where you are going when you die. As the above verse shows, salvation is a MUST and it can only be obtained through Jesus Christ! Change your direction now!
5. TURN RIGHT:
To summarize, here is how to get to Heaven from wherever you are:
RECOGNIZE your helpless, sinful condition.
REALIZE that sin condemns you to hell.
REPENT or turn away from your sin and turn to Jesus Christ.
REST in Christ's complete payment for your sin on the Cross, and
RECEIVE HIM into your heart and life NOW.
"But as many as RECEIVED HIM, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name."
THIS IS GOD'S ROAD MAP TO HEAVEN
If you try to get there some other way you will be eternally and irrevocably lost!
Many well-intentioned, but mistaken, people will tell you there are "Many roads to Heaven." That is just not so. Jesus said, I am the way . . . no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." John 14:6
There is only ONE ROAD to Heaven, and it is paved with the shed blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son. He gave His life's blood to pay the penalty for your sin. Will you accept that as sufficient payment?
THE SINNER'S PRAYER
REMEMBER! It is not a prayer that saves you. It is trusting Jesus Christ that saves you. Prayer is simply how you tell God what you are doing.
"Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and that I need a Savior. I believe that Jesus Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins and for giving me everlasting life. In Jesus' name, Amen."
